Grilled Dhokla Sandwich
Serves- 2-3
Ingredients
500gms Readymade Dhokla
1 Tomato sliced
1 onion, sliced
1 boiled potato, sliced
1 boiled beetroot, sliced
3 tbsp Processed Cheese
Green Chutney
Butter

Method
Cut the dhokla horizontally in two layers.
Place it on the cutting board.
Apply some chutney on the layers.
Now top on layer with tomato, onion, potato and beet root.
Finally grate some cheese on top and top one layers on the other.
Now, apply some butter on the open sides of the Dhokla.
Heat a grill pan and place the Dhokla on it.
Once the Dhokla’s are little crusty and you can see grill marks, take it off the pan.
Serve with chutney & ketchup.

Have had a lovely day filming some quick and easy tasty family recipes . The plan is to design one recipe that will work for the whole family and tempt even the fussiest eater.. Below are some of my top tips for fussy eaters. If you have your own top tips please share them with us below A xx
1 Try to make mealtimes a positive experience . Hide your frustration if your child refuses to eat something but give lots of praise and attention for trying something new . You may need to ignore some bad eating habits and refocus attention on good behaviour .
2 If your child refuses to eat anything other than junk food, Chill out , he or she will soon find there's not much point making a fuss if you don't react.
3 Get your kids in the kitchen it's amazing how being involved in planning and preparing a meal can stimulate a child's appetite.
4 Give small portions or smaller pieces of food like mini burgers . Children also like an individual portion of Cottage Pie in a ramekin rather than a dollop on a plate .
5 Reward schemes work well . Put a reward chart on the wall in the kitchen and when your child tries something new he can put a sticker on the chart and after a certain number of stickers he gets a reward .
6 Make your own healthy junk food . You can make delicious chicken nuggets from Kean chicken breast coated with crushed cornflakes and baked in the oven , you can make burgers from lean beef and I add grated carrot and apple. You can make your own fruit ice lollies from blended fruits like strawberries and watermelon .

B U T T E R N U T: I flavoured this butternut with cumin, chilli, coriander, salt n pepper. Roasted it into oblivion and stuffed it with quinoa (spring onion, seeds, fresh coriander and repeat spices) then drizzled over some double cream cream yoghurt with more cumin & coriander. It's asparagus season here in Aus and what better way to celebrate its deliciousness than with this very easy Asparagus and Goat's Cheese Flatbread! Just a bit of pizza dough (use the recipe link in my bio for a super quick and healthy one) spread with 100g of goat's cheese (mixed with 1/4 cup milk to make it spreadable) and topped with a bunch of asparagus and a sprinkle of parmesan. KEYA RECIPE – Rich Tomato Soup 3 ways
Serves- 2-3
1.Bread Boat Soup
3 Bun kadak pav
Baby Spinach Leaves
Method
• Sliced the top of the pav and keep it aside.
• Make a hollow space in the centre to form a bowl like bread.
• Place the spinach in the bread bowl and pour the soup into it.
2. Shahi Jalfrezi
3 colour peppers, diced 2cm (squares)
1/2 large onion, diced
1 clove garlic, chopped finely
1/3 tsp ginger, chopped finely
1/3 tsp garam masala
Pinch of turmeric
1/3 tsp chilli powder
Salt, to taste
1/3 tsp Shahi Jeera
½ tsp ghee
Method
• Heat oil in a pan and sauté garlic & ginger.
• Add onions and sauté for 2 minutes
• Add garam masala, turmeric powder, chili powder and sauté for a minute.
• Add peppers, salt and toss until they are slightly charred.
• Add this to the soup.
• Using the same pan temper some Shahi jeera using ghee and top the soup.
3. Tomato Dipped Garlic Vegetables
2 tsp Garlic, finely chopped
1 tbsp Butter
200 gm blanched Broccoli
200 gms mushroom
200 gms cauliflower blanched
200 gms Paneer
Long toothpicks
Method
• Pan toss the vegetables, paneer in butter & garlic until its coated well and charred.
• Place the tossed vegetables along with Soup with skewers to be dipped and consumed.

Dinner tonite was this super yummy Indian style Paella / Masala Pilaf😍
Super quick and easy, the spices and herbs add the perfect Indian aroma and taste to create a nutritious and hearty one pot meal❤️
Crackle some mustard seeds, add onions, cinnamon, cardamom and cloves followed by ginger-garlic-green chili paste, freshly chopped mint and cilantro, tomatoes, red chili powder, cracked pepper and coriander powder, cumin powder. Simmer till tomatoes are soft and then add the vegetables (carrot, beans, peas, cauliflower, potatoes etc.) uncooked rice, salt, saffron and water.
Cover and cook till rice and vegetables are done and enjoy this nutritient dense and flavorful one pot meal😋

This accidental steak purchase turned out very well (I'm very absent minded in supermarkets). Mexican, Moroccan fusion.

For the steak marinade (enough for one large steak or two small/medium)
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 quarters of 1 lime's juice
1 tablespoon harissa seasoning
1 teaspoon oregano
Generously salt and pepper.
Mix well together and marinate steak 30 mins minimum. Then fry in a well oiled pan to desired done-ness

For the avocado salsa (2 portions)
Half a red onion diced.
Add 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar to onions and allow to sweat then add:
1 tablespoon olive oil
Large handful cherry tomatoes cut in halves.
1 avocado cored and cut in cubes.
4 inches cucumber diced
3 garlic cloves minced/ grated
Small handful fresh coriander
Generously salt and pepper

Who fancies some Halloween witches fingers!?! Energy balls have never looked so strange?! 😂Totally inspired by @littlecooksco although I switched the recipe a little due to cupboard supplies!! I think she may have a few more Halloween treats coming up this week so may be worth checking her out!! I didn’t measure the ingredients though I’m afraid for this one, sorry!! But going on a good guesstimate these were:

8 Dates (that’s all I had left!!)
Rolled oats ( about 2 cups)
Almond butter ( about 2 tablespoons)
Flaked almonds (large handful) and extra for finger nails!
Honey ( 1 tsp)
Vanilla bean paste ( 1/4 tsp)
Cocoa powder (2 tsp )

If it’s too wet then you may need to add some additional oats, if too dry and the mixture not coming together when squeezed I would add a little water or a touch more almond butter!

So easy to do though! Whizz the oats in a food processor then add the dates followed by the remaining ingredients until the mixture starts to come together when pressed. Shape into fingers and press an almond at the end of each finger for the nail!! Easy peasy! I took these up to school today as the kids after school snack and they seem to have been well received!...to be fair at pickup they’ll eat most things as they come out so tired and hungry!!!....or is that just mine?!? Xx •
