After being rescued from biomedical research, it's nice to see these chimps try new things and learn from each other.

Population of southeastern United States was reportedly over 150,000 at one time, but by early 1990s probably not much over 10,000. Destruction of habitat and disruption of water flow through southern Florida were major causes of decline. Breeding population of far southern Florida has dropped sharply since 1970s, some of these birds apparently shifting north; has expanded breeding range north to South Carolina recently.

It has been a while since we saw one of our leopards photographed up close. Earlier this year it was mating season, and our resident females were on the prowl for male mates. It was really difficult to see them in the clear. But the latest film crew to visit @erindinamibia had some serious luck and found this amazing leopard sighting at the start of their filming trip. We are home to the Global Leopard Project, lead by conservationist Natasha Britz, who continuously collects data and monitors these magnificent cats 💕🐆Photo: @burakdogansoysal

Keeping the balance! Not just important for tiny polar bear cubs but indeed also for humanity!
I photographed this polar bear female and her cub enjoying a seal meal in Svalbard.
Go to @mattiasklumofficial to meet another poweful top predator!
At birth, the polar bear cubs only weigh about 500 to 700 g (17-25 oz.) and are about 30 cm (12 in.) long. Males are usually born slightly larger than females. The average fat content of polar bear milk is 33%, similar to the milkfat of other marine mammals. For comparison, human milk has a 3-5% fat content. Cubs begin eating solid food as soon as their mother makes her first kill on the sea ice , about three to four months of age.
The cubs grow very quickly on their mother's fat rich milk and on seal blubber. By eight months of age, they weigh more than 45 kg (99 lb.). Mother polar bears are known to be extremely protective of their young, even risking their own lives in their cubs' defense. #meal #seal #polarbear #protectwildlife #conservationphotography #svalbard #protectthearctic #stopclimatechange #photooftheday @thephotosociety @irisalexandrov @natgeo @mattiasklumcollection

my @armtheanimals order 🙌🏻😍 you can't get much better than a CAT-AT playing with a ball of yarn or a sniper wolf, right? #obsessed

arm the animals is an awesome design company that helps raise awareness & funds while providing support for animal welfare organizations through their bad ass shirts, mugs, hats, bags, etc.. over the past 5 years, ATA has worked with over 100 different animal welfare organizations and in addition to providing donation funds from product sales, the company also provides printing services, graphic design, marketing, social media strategies, logistical support and anything else a rescue partner may need or request. 🖤

Imagine your home was one of the environmental wonders of the world. Imagine that magical home was under duress and environmental stress. Now imagine you had a tool, a means of communication, to expand the community of people who are passionate advocates for your home.
The Conservation Council of New Brunswick is in the process of making this possible by creating an ESRI Story Map! When an environmental issue arrises, this map will be used to show the media, politicians, and the public just why the area they’re concerned about is so important.
We, along with the Conservation Council of New Brunswick, are asking for your support so this initiative can become a reality. Thanks to our friends at #AvedaAtlantic your donations are matched 1:1, which means a small donation of $20 turns into $40.
We urge you to take a look at this amazing grassroots project, as it can change the lives of many for the better! (Link in bio) 🐳🌱
