As I should have gone to my gym class I had my big meal at lunchtime (leftovers from last nights pesto pasta) .
So had my 2nd shake, Coconut Milk with Vanilla Complete 🥥🍌🍦with a snack of apple & peanut butter 🍎🥜 should have waited till the girls were in bed & they nabbed a bit each 😏🤣 .
Now to block book some Bounce classes before I forget again!!!

Love pumpkin spice and want to make the easiest pumpkin spice protein shake ever?! Then do this~> pour about 10 -12 oz. milk of choice in shaker cup. Add your VANILLA protein powder of choice. Add giant spoonful of pumpkin purée. Toss in a dash of pumpkin pie spice and shake. That’s it! I like to do this about an hour before I head to the gym. When it’s thoroughly shaken I put it in the freezer until I’m ready to leave. Toss it in my gym bag, reshake after my workout, and voila! Delicious fall goodness!

So how do you get enough protein in your diet?

Well, let’s start with why you should first.
-
Fullness, increased ability to add lean muscle and increased ability to hold onto lean muscle while dieting. Recover faster from workouts, and cover your basic health needs while your body needs more on top if you’re exercising intensely (HIIT, sports, strength training).
-
If you want to get toned, sure, you’ll want to be strength training, but your efforts will go much farther, if you get enough protein.
-
Here’s the problem:
-
Hummus, nuts, quinoa, and peanut butter may be tasty, and maybe even very convenient, but they don’t actually have much protein.
-
And although they do have some, and you can just eat large quantities of these foods to get more protein, the problem is they’ll come along with A LOT of calories.
-
Wanna get 30 grams of protein from peanut butter? You’re looking at 650 calories.
-
On the other hand, wanna get 30 grams of protein from chicken, fish, protein powder, Greek yogurt or other foods on the left side?
-
You’re looking at 150-250 calories.
-
So which foods do you think you’ll need in order to keep protein high enough to keep muscle and encourage fullness throughout the day while helping you eat in a calorie range low enough to cut fat?
-
Of course, it’s these foods high in protein, but relatively low in calories.
-
I would be looking at 2-3 sources from the left per day. So 2-3 of your meals based around protein foods.
-
For me, it’s protein powder and meat/fish.
-
The rest of my protein may come from eggs, lentils, or something else, but I get at least 100 grams a day from meat/fish and protein powder. And to get it, from these two sources, I take in only about 600 calories.
-
So, I usually have about 1400-1900 calories, depending on my goals, to get another 60-80 grams of protein and create taste and enjoyment through non-protein foods like potatoes, oats, dressing, etc. You can be creative here, try and make most of your choices natural whole foods.
-
So, choose 2-3 of these sources each day and build your meals around that.
-
That way you’ll keep calories in a good spot, stay satisfied, and get more tone and definition.

I wasn’t one of these cute pregnant women that only gains 15lb (the universe has yet to apologise for that one....😆). I gave up weighing myself those last 2 weeks but I was 40lb up the last time I checked 🙈 I wouldn’t have been so annoyed if I’d have eaten like yolo but I *so* didn’t!! The laws of nature cease to exist when you’re pregnant though and your body does mad things you can’t control 🤷🏼‍♀️ Whatcha gonna do?!

The weight didn’t fall off afterwards ....3 weeks later & I was just 15lb down 😩 And then Christmas happened, and if you know me at all then you know I don’t mess about when it comes to Xmas food 😂
.
January rolled around and I had a good 30lb to lose still 😱 It felt insurmountable to say the least. I had no idea how that was ever gonna happen without starvation being involved, and guys I don’t go without food, like, ever 😜🙌🏼
.
The only option that I could see was to quit being lazy and to start working out *again*. I’d worked out on and off for a few years but I never stuck with anything longer than 6 or 7 weeks.....just long enough to see good things happen and to start feeling amazing and then I’d quit. Self sabotage? Who knows, but that was my ‘thing’.
.
Except this time something magical happened....I didn’t quit!! I completed an entire program and I saw AMAZING things happen to my body. I went on to complete another entire round and lost 28lb!! There’s something totally empowering about setting out to do something and actually doing it, I felt (and still feel!) so crazy proud of myself 😊.

You wanna know why I stuck with it this last time? I’ve thought about it quite a bit and it boils down to one thing. Support.

Every time I’d tried to stick with a workout plan before I’d done it alone, me, myself and I. This time I’m surrounded by THE best support network a girl could ask for!
