Make no mistake, we are going to Squat with all its variations (as seen with the Quarter Squat and Chain Squat in the last two posts), but we will use a variety of Olympic lifts (weightlifting) as well.
The triple extension, rate of force development, low time under tension and low eccentric component make its implementation a high priority in our programming for Track and Field.
As you can see I still utilize lower body plyometrics and medicine balls as well. Use all the tools you have at your disposal!
First is the 1 Arm DB Snatch w/ Reactive Box Jumps w/ MB Slam as one circuit, then Hang Clean and finishing with Split Jerk.

—— The workout:
🌊Revolve lunge: 10 reps each side. Start on a high lunge, with the back leg straight. Extend both knees. Go back to the high lunge, but this time twist to the side of your flexed knee. 🌊Plank leg raises: 20 reps each side
🌊Standing leg extensions (arms by the ears): 10 reps each side. To modify, bring your hands to a prayer position. 🌊Hammie twist: 10 reps each side. With your hands resting on the floor or on yoga blocks, bring one of your legs up as high as you can while keeping your hips squared. Then, bend the standing leg while you bring the other knee towards your standing ankle. Finally, lift the leg back up while straightening both legs. 🌊Inverted table top crunches: 15 reps each side. -single leg deadlift (arms by the ears): 10 reps each side. To modify, bring your hands to a prayer position. —— 4 ROUNDS ——

4 stations - 30s work/30s rest
- Battle Ropes
- Hurdles to Box Jump
- Sledge Slam
- Agility Ladder
* Be explosive for the work time and take advantage of that rest time.

At least once or twice a week we try to focus on being quick and explosive. These workouts are often my favorite because they directly apply to sport, they burn a ton of calories, and most importantly they’re fun!

The goal is to lose fat so right now, at this time in my life, I am eating and training to lose fat.
My body better be burning, DAMMIT!! LOL.
I worked the hell out of my body this morning.
I tried a lot of new stuff I put it at the end so I could think about it all workout.
The 102 ways I’m going to embarrass myself doing wall mountain climbers or wall sprawls, or fall over a higher plyo box. LOL.
I almost talked myself out of doing them. 🤔

I stepped out of my comfort zone, and I lived to tell the tale. And I got a good burn!

I hate mountain climbers. I have hated them for 5-years. I have come around on about everything else, push ups, burpees, tuck jumps, split squat jumps - everything - but mountain climbers. Yuck.
This move was just enticing enough to get me excited about this workout.
The shoulder and ab burn 😱😱. WOW!
