Feeling sassy n’ classy in all thrifted & gifted outfit!
With that said I want to wish everyone a happy #nationalthriftshopday!
Thrift stores are one of my favorite things. I call it “treasure hunting” whenever I get my shop on. This jacket is a vintage wool Pendleton jacket (not pictured the 3 piece suit - skirt and pants ensemble 😜) that I scored from a charity swap for $10. My jewels are gifted from my mama and my beautiful friend Eliza of @cintadesigns_ Wearing items that have a history and a story have so much more meaning and sentiment when you wear them versus buying something directly off the retail rack. I love thrifting, consigning, buying second hand, garage sale-ing, etc. because it helps me create my own style versus markets dictating to me what’s trendy and fashionable to wear.
My parents used to take me second hand shopping all the time when I was a kid. I used to be SO embarrassed. Why would I want someone else things? Now I feel like it’s a superpower because Ive been trained to know how to find all the goods 😏 plus it feels good to donate or resell things to put in that good-good karma bank! And it helps motivate that #circulareconomy mentality.
Do you get your thrift on? Save your money and save the planet! ❤️🌏
