Day 20: A song that has many meanings to you.
This is the third track and lead single of Coldplay's album "Mylo Xyloto" and was released in 2011. It is the band's second number-one single after "Viva la Vida" in 2008. To me, this song is truly a masterpiece.
"Paradise" tells the story of Fly, or Xyloto, (the main character besides Mylo in the album's storyline), who expected much in life but was let down, and now escapes reality in her dreams. It is all about how the real world can be escaped through dreams and one can go to the fictional paradise he or she imagines to get away from obstacles in life (sounds like "Inception" 😂). The music video for this song is my most favorite of all time. In the video, a man dressed as an elephant (later revealed to be Chris Martin) escapes from Paradise Wildlife Park in London and attempts to get to Cape Town. After getting there by being stowed away in a suitcase, he rides a monocycle and comes across three other elephants (Guy, Jonny and Will 😂) and they end up playing the song in a grassland.
This song is a win-win for everyone. I love how the song can be explosive and harmonious at the same time. Chris's falsetto voice and the chorus "Para-para-paradise" are the things that you wont be able to get out of your head after hearing it. "Paradise" also marks a huge renovation in Coldplay's style as you cant find sound like this in any of their four previous albums. And if you watch this song performed live, all the colors, all the lights, all the sound and the amazing crowd will make you go OMG immediately believe me 😂
I write this long just for only one special person to read. How hilarious that this is currently the only pic which has both of us 😂 These upcoming days are gonna be tough, but I promise you that you wont have to dream of any paradise to escape reality as I will be your paradise. We will soon get through everything together so dont you worry honi 😋 (this is not unrealistic, this is confidence and optimism hehe)
