Pandoras Box for Jewellery and precious stones, healing crystals.
Pandora's box is an ancient relic in Greek mythology, taken from the myth of Pandora's creation. The "box" was actually a large jar given to Pandora (Πανδώρα, "all-gifted, all-giving"), which contained all the "evils" of the world. Pandora opened the jar and all the evils flew out, leaving only "Hope" inside once she had closed it again.
I designed this art piece with the reminiscence of Goddess Maat, and her Sphinx familiars in the land of Khem. All Greek knowledge about geometry, physics math and philosophy trickle from Atlantis and the capital city of Poseidon- this is the place where most mythical relics come from.
The purpose of making this piece was to symbolize all things precious to humankind, like gold and profits, and the effects of the human reptilian mind when over-indulgence, vanity and greed make their escape. What else escapes into thin air? Money. In the age of the digital, money is in the air. You simply need to reach out and grab it, so to speak.
What remains in the box? Hope is all that remains, and in this case, all the silver sacred geometry jewellery pieces I've collected over the years remain inside as a physical symbols. Sacred knowledge will always persevere inside or outside of the void, in creation and destruction.
