A man with thick chest and abs but no jacked back does not look good. It makes him suck at performance, like a Mustang chassis powered by a Toyota engine, slow and weak.

Horizontal pull adds thickness to upper, mid back & arms and improves health in shoulders (say bye to hunchback). Besides it preps u to master vertical pull aka chin/pull up

Where: playground, office, home, park, hotel, etc

Who: travelers, white collars, blue collars, kids, teenagers, homeless, etc

How much time: typically 8-10min (8-10sets)

When: preferably towards the end of your workout (to open up your tight chest)

Which muscle groups: erector spinae, lats, rhomboids, mid & lower traps, rear deltoids, forearms, biceps

What to do:
1. Keep arms shoulder width apart, palms face away from u
2. Retract scapulae, squeeze glutes, keep back straight from top to heels
3. Pull and try to touch bar/desk with your sternum
4. Lower controlled manner and repeat 1-3
5. Turn palms facing u and hold for 10s
Alternatives besides table: trx, gymnast rings, chair

Beginner: scale it down by bending 90ยฐ at knees and feet on the ground
Advanced: do one arm row or take out one foot

Kind reminder: pull shoulder blades (chest out) to initiate each pull, return slowly, squeeze butt, safety first
