If you’re heading to Sonoma Wine Country, you should definitely make a stop at Mission San Francisco Solano. It’s the most northern of all 21 missions AND the last one to be founded, 54 years after the first mission was built in San Diego. Since the mission is now a part of Sonoma State Historical Park, there is not an active parish here. Most of the missions are still active churches so this one definitely has a different feel to it from the others, but still worth exploring as the last and northernmost mission.
