When I first arrived to North Park as the Director of Diversity, I met with Pastor Judy weekly. She prayed me through some very difficult times.... By her example I saw how a woman could lead with grace, authority, and humility... We didn't agree on everything, but we continuously conversed together, laughed together, and covered each other in prayer. I love, admire, and respect this woman of God more than words can say. I will hold the words she wrote for this MLK Benediction close to my heart... I pray it brings you peace as well...❤ Pastor Judy's MLK Benediction: "May the God who loved the WHOLE world so much that he couldn't stay away and so he put on skin to come and walk with us... Go BEFORE you to guide the way into a life that is able to dream beyond this day to a ONE DAY where the WHOLE world is judged "by the content of their character"
May this God go BEHIND you to encourage you that we are truly better together and that "We must live together as brothers (and sisters) or perish together as fools." May this God be ABOVE you to watch over you because "There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe nor politic nor popular, but we must take it because our conscience tells us it is right." May this God whom we can know through Jesus Christ go BESIDE you as your most intimate traveling companion and may he remind you that "hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." And may this God go WITHIN you to give you the peace that passes all understanding, the peace that makes no sense at all, the peace that comes "when we accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope." In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
