Every day my job will bring conversation(s) with people on what they have removed from their lives in order to lose weight. Or sent screenshots of food logs to see people slash calories/carbs/fats and under no circumstance would they entertain a thought of enjoying an occasional treat. •

There is a HUGE difference in calorie/portion control and extreme restriction which most of the time will set you up for a rebound effect of a wave of guilt if you’ve wandered off plan to have a “forbidden” food. •

✨During this holiday season, what if we focused on what good things we could ADD to our lives? 4️⃣ STEPS you can implement today to set yourself up for success in the new year ✨
1️⃣ 8-10 hours of sleep should be a top priority. Skimping on sleep lulls the frontal lobe, which is the hub of decision making and impulse control. • Start with a goal of adding 20-30:00 more sleep a night. Start 90:00 out by a cup of herbal tea, a hot shower to cool the body temperature down, and go on “Airplane Mode” (no scrolling or texting.
2️⃣ Eat More Veggies 🥦🥬🥒
High volume, fibrous veggies aid in digestion and keep you satisfied longer. I have clients add up to 4 cups PER meal to keep hunger away. Start small, 1 cup per meal and work your way up when the cravings hit!
3️⃣ DRINK!! - water is one, if not THE most underutilized tools we have. A hydrated body will move and feel better, aids in digestion and day metabolism. •

Work towards a goal of half our bodyweight in ounces a day.
4️⃣ Add more STEPS 👟 (NEAT-Non exercise Activity Thermogenesis) The body works to burn energy, even in the smallest of movements. This is one of the best ways to start, and crucial even for active people whose job is sitting at a desk all day. Most smart phones are equipped with step trackers, aim for a goal of 8-10k steps daily! ✨ Trust the process, practice patience and consistency.

In the dressing room today we talked a bit about the diversity in the Sweet n’ Savory brunch show and how great it is that not every girl looks the same. I must say, that I really appreciate all the shows I do because I get to work with quite a diverse group of people who are super cool and down to earth. I’m gonna need more of that in the New Year! .

2018 has been a great year for me. I have been given amazing opportunities. I have photographed amazing people, I will be finishing my bachelor's degree next week, I was accepted into my dream master's counseling program, I have accepted a job at Munson, and I have lost about 30 pounds in total since February. I pushed myself pretty hard this year with working full time, having my own photography business, and being a full time student.
I am positive that 2019 will be even better than this year. My goals are to exercise more regularly. I want my weightloss journey to turn into a healthy lifestyle and a passion. I am determined to not only lose more weight but to become more health conscious with the foods I eat.
Next, I want to travel more. I have been stuck in a rut where I am solely focused on work, school, and my weightloss. Instead, I realize that by traveling more and sharing experiences with loved ones, I can relax and enjoy the beautiful moments that I often overlook.
Third, I want to find more things that destresses my life (like traveling, but more daily activities). If I want to become a counselor, I need to find ways to relax for myself. So, that I can share my experiences with others.
Lastly, I want to become more organized both with my schedule and with things in general (mostly just get rid of clothes I don't need). I want to find more time for important things in life, like loved ones (boyfriend, friends, and family). Also, I want to organize and get rid of things I don't use on a daily or weekly basis.
I know that this has been a long post. But I haven't updated you guys about my fitness journey or just life in general for a while now. I wanted to be more open about my goals, so that I am held more accountable for them. I hope that this list of goals inspires you to think of some goals for next year. I am excited to start these goals and give you updates more often! Thank you for all the support, I couldn't have done it without you! ❤

There was once a time when I could drink coffee and not have the thought “this would make a cool picture” pass through my head. Aw man, what a time I’ve done a lot of thinking about this last year of my life, I’ve become a mom, lost some friends, and grew in ways I could have never imagined. It’s been one of the most freighting and exhilarating rollercoasters and I am so thankful for it. So here as we are arriving towards the end of 2018, I’m already making a list of goals of things I want to see accomplished for next year, one those being to take care of myself, grow our business, and just in general continue to grow into the person the Lord has destined me to be. Tomorrow, John and I will be dedicating lolli at church, and I know that this is just beginning of Lolli’s relationship with the Lord and I’m so excited to watch who she will grow into. So Im looking forwards, and moving on from this year. It’s time I become the person I know I can be, and the mom I know I can be, sooo, here’s to getting stuff done and surrendering my life to who I was made to be. Cheers ☕️

Who wants in?!

1 YEAR DIFFERENCE .
But many differences where made to achieve where I’m at today. Here we have a plump 440 Porro in Senoia GA admiring the set of the Walking Dead. The other hand we have a fit 220 Porro walking the sights of San Francisco. Only one summer separates these two pictures.

How did I do it???

I hit rock bottom on 4/29/17 when I stepped on a pallet scale and I saw 480lbs. I always new I was well above 350 because that was the max at my doctors office scale. But seeing I was nearly 500lbs BROKE ME. But when something great is broken it needs to be rebuilt STRONGER.
.
Deep down you are GREAT never discredit or downplay your abilities. I’ve come across plenty of people telling me their stories. I’m for ever grateful because aslong as you have 4 walls and a roof over your head at night you can god willing start the next day and try a little harder at your goals.

I’m brand new to CrossFit but Ive gone consistently all week to 5am classes because your not physically going to get better watching it on YouTube. With the right time and practice @scott_turbo_fitness is gonna make a physical specimen out of me.

Find what physical activity and what diet you are happy and KNOW you can realistically stick you long term and start today. Not everyone can do CrossFit or Bodybuilding or Keto and Vegan. Find what feels like is tailor made for you!!
