🧠 Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization : Series 3 of 5 : Trunk Stabilization 🌐

Have you ever been to a trainer, physical therapist, or a chiropractor and they tell you that you need to start doing more “core?” Do you have pain and nobody (including yourself) can figure it out or give you the answers you’re looking for? I’m not talking about crunches and Russian twists here people. Read below👇🏼

The integrated spinal stabilizing system (ISSS) as described by Pavel Kolar, is comprised of balanced co‐activation between the deep cervical flexors and spinal extensors in the cervical (neck) and upper thoracic (shoulder) region, as well as the diaphragm, pelvic floor, all sections of the abdominals and spinal extensors in the lower thoracic and lumbar (low back) region

These intrinsic (deep) spinal stabilizing muscles provide spinal stiffness in coordination with IAP, which serves to provide dynamic stability of the spine. They constitute the “deep core” and operate under the automatic and subconscious “feed‐forward control mechanism,” of our bodies and this must precede any purposeful movement

The DNS approach emphasizes the importance of precise muscular timing and coordination for efficient movement as well as withstand compressive loading, which occurs in static or sustained postures

In this video, I am achieving optimal trunk stability by holding a static 3 months supine position while rolling. To achieve greater stability, I progress myself by holding a static 6 months (grabbing feet) position in order to have a deeper co-activation of all of the ISSS components

Hey You All, fellow lifters, hustlers, goal diggers. I hope you all are in good health overall. So today's workout videos as follows. * An increment of 3 kgs from past deadlift session. I used to deadlift more weight than this but it was kinda totally off from doing deadlifts. So today final set was for 130kgs for 3 strict reps. * Another new variation of high row I tried, you have to completely rest your back on stepper and then raise your upper body slightly and keep your core rigid and this variation hits more rear delts, upper-mid back region.
* Underhand barbell bent over rows for thickness and lower lats region, it was my last set for 70kgs for 8-10 reps, keeping upper body almost parallel with the floor is challenging in this exercise if the load is more.
* I did this barbell back extensions today and today I kept my upper back engaged to target lumbar area more and holding the barbell works better than holding a dumbbell, kettlebell or a plate.

🧠 Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization : Series 2 of 5 : Functional Joint Centration⛓

Did you know that your joint position dictates your overall stability which directly correlates to your mobility and strength? What if I told you that shifting your joints into optimal positions would maximize your results? This is going to push you past those barriers that you can’t seem to break through. Read below👇🏼

So let’s answer the question : what is functional joint centration?

Functional joint centration is the angle at which a joint is optimally loaded, which creates a perfect axis of rotation to move as needed while disassociating movement from other joints. More importantly, proper joint centration will allow clear communication from the joint to the brain to achieve proper muscle activation and positioning for the best mechanical advantage possible ⚖️

So what does this mean in terms of mobility and strength?

In terms of your mobility, this means that having a centrated joint will not alter the lines of pull on muscle tissues that stabilize the joint. If lines of pull of the muscles that stabilize the joint are altered, this will cause them to be shortened, which leads to movement compensation, which will eventually result in an injury of some sort 🤕

In terms of strength, this means maximum muscle activation is achieved, allowing the joint to not only be more stable, but now can tolerate more load and reduce the risk of injury or compensation during more complex or powerful movements 🏋🏻‍♂️

The diaphragm begins to fulfill its dual function as both a respiratory and postural muscle when abdominal breathing is coordinated with chest breathing at about 6 months of age. The dual role of the diaphragm is essential for spinal stability and all resultant movements, especially for the complex tasks that comprise athletic performance

I’ve been told we fall out of this dual function pattern around the age of 3 or 4, so imagine how long it’s been that you’ve been breathing incorrectly and what’s happened since then...🤔
