An #nycLightBrigade sign I made last year for @ny4change appeared in the background of a @nypost article this week. Photo by #ErikThomas .

From a late 2015 #agitprop project between longtime Bushwick residents and #NYCLightBrigade. Other signs stating “NOT 4 SALE” and “NO EVICTION ZONE” went up around the neighborhood, which is a hotbed for #gentrification and #displacement

Going to be late to yoga but that's ok because...I'm going to yoga (and it's probably been a year). #onlyyoucandoyou #selfnurture #warriormama #allthescarves #nyc #yoga #yogapractice Thank you #nyclightbrigade for the inspiration!

Now that's how you throw a surprise birthday party! #rebelfriends #happybirthday #erikcito #nyclightbrigade @plebeianadventures

Manhattan judge orders immigration activist Ravi Ragbir released from custody!!!

So glad I could get out to #JFK one year ago today w these #NYCLightBrigade signs and help clarify that the crowd was gathered there to protest the truly #racist #Trump #MuslimBan. Hundreds of photographers stood on the levels of the parking deck (including Lucky Tran who took this shot) and then used the pics in social and mainstream media (including the @washington post who used it on the front page the next day). In the past year I have brought Light Brigade signs to help illuminate countless actions covering a wide intersectional spectrum of demands and shedding light on injustices and you have my word I will bring out signs to a steady stream of rallies and marches throughout 2018. So much more to be done! Thanks for posting this meme on fb @actdottv ‼️ ✨💥👊💖💥✨

Wow: Crowd estimates from Women’s Marches now tally over 4 million and political scientists think we may have just witnessed the largest day of demonstrations in American history. Thrilled to be a 1/4,200,000th of this weekend’s Women’s Marches. Great marching w my long-time friend Julie and running into long-time friend and great photographer @ministererik who snapped this. Onward!

@washington.press used a photo of @kaylilemoyne holding the WOMEN Light Brigade sign next to the #DUMPTRUMP sign in an article about 45 trying to co-opt the Women’s Marches. Ew, hate seeing a tweet of his smothering my art 🤬

Last picture tonight. It’s too good to leave out. Great action @pen_america ‼️

And here’s a 💥GREAT💥 picture from the march earlier 👊😂

We’re joining #BrickXBrick and the #NYCLightBrigade at the @NYPL at Bryant Park for @pen_america’s Writers Resist: #LouderTogether event. We’ll be here ‘til 6:30pm—and hope to see you! #artunitesus #culturekeepsbordersopen

PEN America on the steps of the main Manhattan library! Great post-Women’s March event.

Got the HERSTORY IN THE MAKING banner ironed and ready to go! I guess the fact that it will be marching in its second Women’s March makes it all the more #herstoric ‼️Have an awesome day Everyone‼️

Just dropped off PEN America’s new #NYClightBrigade sign at their office in SoHo. It will be used at their Writers Rising Reading tomorrow at 5 on the main 5th ave Library steps for the #ArtActionDay put on by We the Federation.... along w a bunch of other signs 😊Right after the Women’s March, and just around the corner! photo by @mr_hip

WOMEN’S MARCH TOMORROW! UNITE 4 POWER! Go to womensmarch.com to find a march near you. This NYC Light Brigade pic was taken a few years ago of powerful Women demanding rights for the Dalit women of India 👊🌺🇮🇳

A @hyperallergic article entitled “A Day of ‘Beautiful Artistic Chaos’ Will Mark the First Anniversary of Trump’s Inauguration” used this photo of the #NYClightBrigade. This picture was taken during a #FreeExpression collaboration w @pen_america and @illuminator99 back in 2014 in front of the @brooklynmuseum On Sat, January 20th, a collective of artists, arts workers, and cultural groups is organizing ‘Art Action Day’ which includes an eclectic program of national events.
I’m excited to announce that PEN America, The Illuminator and I will be collaborating again, creating an illuminated reading by well known authors on the steps of the main NY Public Library as part of this national day of artistic action. The main library is one block away from Bryant Park where the NY @womensmarch will conclude so I encourage everyone to join us there at 5:30 after you march!
