This is a picture from before her marriage, probably 1960-61, she got married in 1962, she is looking out a window of her father's house, a forlorn look. She liked reading novels, had a red book in which she wrote short stories, stories that she had never ever showed anyone. She married a struggling businessman, a young man, from her neighbourhood, a marriage of love, the two defying their respective families, who objected to the match. In the course of their life together the young man became tremendously successful and they tasted wealth that very few in their rather impoverishedd country could even dream of. They had three sons, one died within a few days of his birth, the other two survived. .
She had congenital heart desease and it made her suffer a lot. Her husband committed suicide during the early 1990s, most likely as a result of financial problems, she was heartbroken and lived a life of aloofness till she died on this day (24th of October) in 2000 from cancer. She was only 58. .
I had a love/hate relationship with her since my teenage, but have now reconciled with those differences and feel convinced that she loved more than anything. “Our mothers always remain the strangest, craziest people we've ever met.” and she was my mother and she has now been gone for 18 years. .
