My top 5 ways to stay on track during show season:
1️⃣ Drink a lot of water. I know there are much more tastey options 🍻 but try to get in all your water and then some. Not only will this help you stay on track, it will keep you from feeling sick, hungover, and from snacking on all the things.
2️⃣ Meal prep! Whether that meals bringing food along or mentally preparing yourself for what you will eat before you get there... have a plan! I encourage you to pick the one “fair food” you must indulge in (for me it’s milkshakes 🍦). Enjoy it and avoid the rest.
3️⃣ Walk. Don’t take the elevators. Nothing to do? Pace up and down your alisle. Add some lunges, calf raises, squats. You’ll be surprised how much a little extra movement will do you good.
4️⃣ Keep up with as much quality sleep as possible. Your body can’t function at 100% on shitty sleep. Don’t expect it too.
5️⃣ Give yourself some grace!!! Any weight you gain, any progress you loose can be gained back just as quickly as you lost it. You weren’t put on this earth to worry about gaining 10 pounds. Live your life. This health and fitness journey is to amplify those awesome times, not take away from them. When you get back to normal, DO NOT TRY TO OVERCOMPENSATE YOUR WORKOUTS. No 2-a-days. Just pick up where you left off. You can double up your veggies and water. But don’t put your already recovering body in more stress! You are gonna be just fine girl.
