🍂 It’s tragic to conceive how so many Indigenous Native Indians have suffered inhuman and deplorable mentions of torture and injustice throughout so many parts of the world.
Here in South America, Chile. Sadly, it’s no different.
The Mapuche Indian remain in a continual battle over their land.
During the colonial period, the Mapuche remained independent until the late 1800’s, when then the Chilean State invaded and occupied.
Mapuche people were then removed to reservations, losing the majority of their ancestral lands.
During the first half of the twentieth century these reservations were continually subject to division and expropriation by powerful landowners in the region.
As to date, the struggle continues in having their “inherent land”, reinstated to them. 🍂
