Upside down Inversion - only learned this one a few weeks ago but got up my FIRST time!!! Started with a tripod stance and second attempt handstand! Pretty proud considering this is an advanced pose. Little rusty I know, my balance isn’t the best and I haven’t done a handstand in general, in years 😯 but practice makes perfect fam 🧘🏻‍♀️💕

Not being able to touch your toes in a forward fold doesn’t make you bad at yoga, me being able to almost touch my elbows in a forward fold doesn’t make me good at yoga - all it means is that you might have tighter hamstrings than me! Yoga is not measured by our physical flexibility or our physical strength, because there is no such thing as being good or bad at yoga. Yoga is a practice, it’s a daily ritual. So show up on your mat, show compassion and kindness towards others and especially towards yourself, breathe – that is yoga. #yogapractice #yogainspiration #yoga

Testicular burning. 🥴 Yes this is a thing in the realm of men’s #pelvicfloordysfunction and this symptom can be pretty common. Issues in the abdominal wall can be the main cause or trigger. Hernias - inguinal or sports hernias for instance - create holes in the abdominal wall where important nerves reside. Some of these nerves play a role in innervating the testicles. When they are infringed upon, burning and abnormal sensation in the testicles can occur. Tight muscles such as the Iliopsoas can also impinge on these nerves and cause burning down below. There are other causes too - have you had a vasectomy? Any other trauma to the area? Is your bladder bothering you? 😣

If you are feeling these symptoms, it would be beneficial to assess your lifting mechanics or what your workout is - could these activities be causing issues in your abdominal wall or the surrounding muscles and nerves ? If you’re not sure, have a pelvic floor therapist assess you!!! If it is not muscle or nerve related, they can refer you to the proper physician 👩‍⚕️ .

Just a little obliques workout using my @feetup 🤣🤣 I’m playing around with the trainer and trying to find different ways I can use this little prop in my practice so that it is useful for me. Given that I don’t actually need a prop when it comes to my headstand practice, I’ve decided to see whether I can use it to get stronger and more flexible! So far I found it very useful for deep stretches, whilst also managing to have a bit of fun in the process! I don’t see myself using it everyday but rather when I have a bit more time on my mat 👍🏻😊it’s good to keep your practice playful, and this definitely is great for a bit of play!
