The town that dreaded sundown is a movie that I feel is usually overlooked and undervalued by horror audiences. No movie is perfect and unfortunately this movie contains some incredibly goofy sequences involving police that really throw off the vibe of the film. The kills, the killer himself and the true backstory of the crimes is some of the best slasher horror ever put onto screen in my opinion. If someone finds this movie boring or isn't a fan that's fair enough but I would advise maybe looking into the backstory more and watching the movie again with a different thought process, realising a man really did these kind of things makes the kill scenes more tense and frightening. The masked killer himself is very daunting in this film, the first time I watched this movie I wasn't expecting much but this menacing killer really took me by surprise and made me enjoy this film and see that it deserves a place amongst the unsung horror gems.
