Yesterday I learned that there’s a written rule in Monopoly that has always been there, but no one plays by.
It changes the whole course of the game.
It got me thinking about how perception is reality. To us, “truth” is what we’ve been taught- what we perceive. That’s it. It’s an individualized concept. If it’s true in our own minds, then it’s true for everyone. No one can possibly prove otherwise. Until they can.
I mean...ask me yesterday at 10am the truth about how you play Monopoly, and my answer will be just as confident, but 100% different than if you asked me at 1pm.
So when I’m staunchly fighting to defend my truth against someone else doing the same, we are fighting a hopeless battle.
💥The “truth” changes with the availability of new information.💥
Ignorance is created when a person refuses to consider this.
Truth is a fluid concept, and the key to compassion & growth is your ability to move with it.❤️
