today was one of those days where I just needed to be alone.
I was feeling a lot of stress and anxiety and I didn't want to unfairly take that out on someone else.
sometimes you just need to be by yourself and sit with your thoughts. so that's what I did. I journaled about what I was feeling. I was thinking about a certain situation and what I did well and what I could have done better. what fell through the cracks. what I should have thought about. beating myself up over it all. but after lots of breathing and stretching, I decided to cut myself some slack, because I am doing the best I can. we are all doing the best we can. I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders.
so when you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed or like you didn't do well enough at whatever it is, show yourself grace. everyday is not perfect, but there is something perfect in everyday. find that and hold onto it✨

It's no longer "ab day" but "CORE DAY"
I don't (and you shouldn't) work my "abs" to make them pop.
I work my entire core (muscles all the way to the spine).
Stabilizing muscles for almost every other exercise or motion you put your body through.
REPEAT AFTER ME: "A ⚡️strong ⚡️core ⚡️doesn't ⚡️mean a ⚡️six ⚡️pack"
When you have a strong core you are able to support your body through all other motions, exercises and activities with low risk of injury.
"AB DAY" SHOULD NOT BE YOUR FAVORITE DAY cause you think it's easier.. if you're doing it right.. IT SHOULD BE THE HARDEST DAY!

When you allow yourself to indulge, your body will tell you when it is full. Eat you heart out, and let your body tell you when enough is enough.
Balance is being happy mind, body, and soul✨ and when you change your mindset to being okay with "bad" foods, you won't overdo it!

• Brown rice (seasoned with Mrs Dash), mixed veg, and lean ground turkey with mango chipotle seasoning

SENSORY DEPRIVATION FLOAT TANK 😌💙

You probably saw on my story yesterday that I went for my second float at @moderngravity 👩🏼‍🚀 Floating in a water tank filled with 34°C (body temperature water) and 23 bags of Epsom salt makes you feel completely weightless and relaxed - it’s so cool! I’m normally terrible at meditation or relaxing (my mind is always going a mile a minute!) so yesterday’s float session was surprising to me because I actually fell asleep and enjoyed being completely still and silent the entire float (the music comes on to wake you up and signal the end of your float - and I love that they play Temper Trap to wake you! - video sound on if you want to hear!!) 😊 I even floated the entire session in complete darkness which absolutely makes a difference in your floating and relaxation. My second float was way better than my first in terms of unwinding and letting go completely. 💕

Spent my lunch hour getting sweaty with these beauts today 💦 SO happy to have finally hung out with my girl @healthypeanut and SO happy to be back in @cjjansen1’s class!! ❤️👊🏼 (Even if I was dying the whole time because I’m still getting over whatever sickness has plagued me for the last month 😂) 660 calories 🔥 & pushed past my max heart rate today (lol 195 oops) and officially one happy camper 👍🏼 and that’s only workout #1 today!!

Firuze and I have been instafriends for a long time. And twitter friends. And Facebook friends 😂 She’s from Edmonton and we actually have a ton of mutual friends, but is finishing school in Saskatoon - so even though I feel like I’ve known her forever we actually just really met today 😂😂😂 or once before if you count crossing the street in opposite directions and quickly saying “hi!” our first encounter haha. Yet another reason that Instagram and my Instafam brings me so much happiness ☺️💗 It’s so wild to me that my best friends are friends I’ve made because of this app!! I saw something truly heartbreaking yesterday...
I was scrolling through IG and I came across a pretty well-known athlete/influencer/whatever you wanna call it
And a younger girl (prob high school) had commented saying
“I wish I was this beautiful so I could be as successful as you”
Or something along those lines, you get it
This honestly stopped me in my tracks
Because at the end of the day the picture was just a girl with big boobs in her underwear taking a selfie in the mirror 🤷🏼‍♀️
You know I’m all “if you got it flaunt it”
But since when did perceived beauty determine our success?
What if the girl in that picture struggles everyday with how she looks?
What if posting half naked pictures is just an overcompensation for a lack of self-esteem?
(I’m not saying this is always the case I’m just asking you to look at things with a different perspective)
What if instead of basing beauty off of how someone looks, we started basing it off how someone feels.
Know what else is beautiful besides your body?
Compassion.
Authenticity.
Kindness.
Encouragement.
Reliability.
Your soul. Your mind. Your words.
THAT is your true beauty.
And that is what drives success.
Your genetic makeup is only a small portion of who you are
