So yesterday, @dezinahchic's progeny, A; my daughter, J; and I were at the table when this happened!
A brought out a bottle of cold water and attempted to pour it into a cup... where it instantly formed crystal slushy towers. What sorcery!
I observed a few things with this phenomenon:
- water was undisturbed in the freezer for a few hours
- it became super cold
- the pouring motion created slushy towers
- the results varied with the speed of pouring
Google Search: 'super cold water instant freeze' for more
I began to think about other drinks working like this and they do. Thank you @naphykadir_ for sharing a YouTube link
Also, @lordbanks shared his StarTrek faves with F and I - apparently there's a drink/ cocktail called the Samarian Sunset which works in a similar way. A transparent liquid is agitated by a jolt abd turns into this sunset colour drink.
