I wanted to post this for women to see that it’s perfectly normal to still look pregnant after having the baby. I remember watching videos ahead of time where women said they were surprised to see they looked about 6 months pregnant after having the baby. It prepared me to see that for myself. Heck, I was still being asked when I was due a whole month after having the baby 🤷🏾♀️. Not every woman goes through this, but a good amount do!
Depending on where your uterus is located, it can poke your stomach out a great deal because it’s still big enough to fit a baby. Some people have uteruses farther back so this may be less noticeable. Also, you might retain a large amount of fluid. ALSO, while pregnant, fat gain is concentrated more in your midsection, hips/thighs, and breasts to help support the baby and help provide energy for breast milk.
Birth is the closest a woman will come to death. Birth is especially risky in America with more deaths compared to most “developed” nations. With us fighting to live, and keep our babies alive, the last thing we need to worry about is if our stomachs are completely flat the next day, week, or even months.
