Well, as for the Assembly Of First Nations, all I can say is I blame Brian Malrouney for his reform of the Indian Act. As for all the public citizens on each reserve, I’ll quote John Mayer: “Sometimes you have to try everything before you get that one thing just right”. The Federal government want out of the Indian Act and the Chiefs want more revenue towards each of their tribes, if you ask me? This situation is a little bit sick. The problem here is the words used to discuss the matter, and the slandering doesn’t help matters, it may be free speech, but it truly doesn’t help. Again Brian Malrouney is to blame, as it is the federal government. And they can walk in and appoint any chief who they wish, if they so please, not to mention remove people from their land and use any land they do choose that isn’t being used as property to “better” the Canadian economy as a whole. Some say interference is at hand, in my opinion, the Honourable Indigenous Relations Minister, Carolyn Bennett, is telling the chiefs what they want to hear, as to abolish the Indian act all together, when in reality it needs to be reformed with a major overhaul.
