Core stiffness is tres important for injury prevention and enhancing athletic performance. Building a strong core means strengthening all of those torso muscles. Most of these exercises aren't the most "flattering" if you're keeping braced (because yano, flexing your lower back makes you look temporarily wider) but the benefits far outweigh the very short term awkward.
Like squeezing the heck out of your 🍑 on leg day. Not the cutest but it's more than worth it, mane 👊🏻.

🦄I feel like there’s a huge misunderstanding in the fitness industry and I want to take a second to clear the air.

☕️The nature of our industry lends itself to coaches posting pictures showing off their bodies because, like it or not, it’s a valid form of self-promotion. Whether or not it means they’re actually a good coach is a separate discussion entirely. But I know some amazing coaches with extraordinary knowledge and admirable intent who do it...as well as some other coaches with lots of room to improve.

🦄Either way, it’s easy for these pictures to be misleading for a bunch of reasons, not least of which being they’re usually accompanied by pictures of the coach eating ice cream and pizza and pop tarts and doughnuts and blah blah blah.

☕️To their credit, they say it's because calories dictate fat loss and as long as you eat less than you burn you'll lose fat. And they're correct - that's true.

🦄But...they’re omitting the most important part. Because believe me when I tell you they aren’t eating like that all day long. See, they show you their "fun" meals because that’s what most people are ”wow’d” by. They make you curious and jealous and say, "I wish I could do that." Because that's how they’ve learned to promote and try to get you to buy into their coaching or ebook or course or yada yada yada.

☕️Truth is, most of their meals aren’t "junk." Most of their meals are, candidly, pretty boring. And, for the most part, they eat the same meals day after day. Because it’s easier to track your calories if you’re consistent with your meals.

🦄It's not fun or sexy or good marketing. But it's true. 90% of my meals are lean meats (or fish) and veggies. I have fruit several times each day. Drink lots of water (seltzer mostly), unicorn blood, and sometimes tea (but usually unicorn blood).

☕️Do I indulge sometimes? Course. I have a legitimate addiction to pizza (thin crust, not deep) and if there's ice cream cake in my freezer I'll inhale it whole. But don't for a second believe anyone who makes it seem like all they eat is the "fun"'stuff while getting ripped. Sure they might eat some, but it's a tiny percentage of their overall diet.

Dur dur le réveil ce matin, j’ai du laisser au moins le réveil sonner 5/6 fois avant de me bouger les fesses pour me lever 🙄 Mais quand tu commence ensuite la journée par une tour de pancakes tout va mieux!! ☺️😋

Ce matin c’est révision parce que cette après midi, « petit » devoir de biochimie 👌🏻

Du coup pas de training aujourd’hui mais étant passé à 5 séances par semaine, on rattrapera tout ça ce week end!! 💪🏻

Du coup, pour les pancakes c’est toujours la même chose:
- Flocons d’avoines
- Oeufs
- Banane
- Cannelle
Et j’ai rajouté de 3/4 noisettes à l’intérieur ☺️
On mixe le tout, on fait cuire à feu doux et ça nous fait des gros pancakes bien épais 😍😍
En topping, le reste de banane qui n’a pas était mis dans la pâte, quelques framboises, des amandes écrasées et des copeaux de chocolat noir 👌🏻

If you had told me this is what I was to be expecting 26 weeks ago, I’d say you were being ridiculous. -----------------------------------------------
The kind messages I’ve received, the people I’ve met through social media, and the friends I’ve made along the way has made this experience all so worth it. While a caloric deficit achievable with almost all named diets, will bring about weight loss. Caloric deficit combined with adequate protein intake will bring about fat loss. Even if you just care about being skinny you're going to want to do everything you can to retain muscle. The main nutritional factor for this is protein intake. ⠀

Some diets will allow adequate protein ingestion more easily than others. Adequate protein ingestion can be difficult with certain named diets. Making them less advantageous than others especially from an adherence perspective.⠀

I need to stop “tasting” these Thanksgiving (cranberry and pumpkin seed) biscotti so I can share at #friendsgiving tomorrow!
4 scoops Quest multipurpose protein powder
1 cup almond flour
4 eggs
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 tsp baking powder
45 g pepitas
80 g dried cranberries
The recipe makes about 22 biscotti. For 1 biscotti:
[110cals/5F/9C/7P]
Mix everything together and form into two logs. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 mins. Let cool for about an hour and slice each log into ~11 pieces. Chocolate protein pancakes. Great for breakfast or even post workout! Here’s the recipe;

1) Blend together 2 eggs, 1 scoop chocolate whey protein, 30g oats, 1/2 tsp baking powder.
2) Makes around 4 medium sized pancakes. I make one at a time in a frying pan.
3) Serve with Greek yoghurt, blueberries and honey!
460 cals, 40g protein, 30g carbs, 20g fats.
