We had the BEST day in Ubud yesterday!
Visiting the Monkey Forest 🙉, and the local market were such amazing highlights, seeing the rice fields, local art, drinking a “cat-poo-chino” (you’ll love this story but it’s for another time 🐱) it was a FULL day!! ———
Kids fell asleep on the drive home and Eric and I slipped away for the most incredible Indonesian tasting menu - we tried EVERYTHING (and enjoyed most things 😂). 📸📸📸👉👉❤️❤️
The activity in the picture was the BEST part of our day - a beautiful woman who told us to call her Momma, taught us to create a traditional Hindu Offering. ———
The process is very elaborate and traditional, her knife was sharp and obvious, from all of her years of creating her families offering, she could complete the exercise with her eyes closed, yet took the time (and patience necessary with Libby and Cap) to explain and help us each step of the way. ———
Every Hindu family in Bali creates offerings EVERYDAY - some 15-30 offerings per home are made in the morning and placed throughout the home and temple.
These are my favorite moments of any travel experience, learning about the culture and sharing it with the kids is the BEST PART❤️. #bali
