Dr. Katie's Health Tip: the secret to yummy roasted vegetables is caramelization. All vegetables contain natural sugars, so use them to your benefit!

The best way to get sweet, golden-brown roasted vegetables is high heat and a flat roasting surface. Brussels sprouts are so easy because you just nip off the end and slice in half. After coating with EVOO, kosher salt and pepper, place flat side down on your roasting pan and slide into a 400-425 degree oven for 30 minutes. Then flip and roast an additional 15 minutes. An easy weeknight side!

Te mennyi idő alatt eszel meg ennyi zöldséget és gyümölcsöt? 🌱🍏🍌🥔🍍🍅🥒🌶️Nekünk kettőnknek, átlagosan ez 1-2 napi adag. Na persze nem mind nyersen, hanem főételekbe is kerül bőven, vagy épp edzés utáni turmixba. 💥 Tudtad, hogy az ajánlások szerint napi 8 adag (kis csészényi) zöldséget és gyümölcsöt kellene fogyasztanod? Ezt persze inkább 1:7-es, vagy 2:6-os arányban a zöldség javára. 🥕Egyébként ez nekem egyáltalán nem megerőltető, teljesen természetessé vált az elmúlt években, inkább az a furcsa, ha ennél kevesebbet eszem. 😊Ha viszont te csak most kezdesz neki erre figyelni, akkor azért javaslom a fokozatosságot. Lassan szoktasd hozzá a szervezeted, ne sokkold. ☝️Eleinte inkább főzve fogyaszd a nagy részét, később mehet több nyersen. Egyébként tévesen keringő tény, hogy minden esetben jobb ezeket nyersen fogyasztani. Vannak ugyanis olyan zöldségek, aminek a mikrotápanyagai kizárólag előemésztett (pl:főzött) állapotban tudnak hasznosulni. ✍️Ha a lassú, fokozatos hozzászoktatás mellett is gondot okoznak , akkor viszont érdemes egy alapos gasztroenterológiai kivizsgálást megejtened, mert lehetséges, hogy egészségügyi probléma is áll a háttérben.Viszont az orvost is érdemes megválogatni, hiszen ez egy olyan téma, amiben nagyon kevés a valóban jártas szakember és sok, aki hazaküld, mondván, hogy semmi bajod, pedig van. 🙄Ha tünet van, azt valami okozza, amire rá kell jönni, hogy mi. ✔️

When I wake up tomorrow, this chia seed pudding will be ready! Yum!

Pistachio 💚 continues with this delicious and healthy dip for veggies or sandwich spread from @julie_wunder. #runninginaskirt
Pistachio Hummus
🥫1 15 oz can of chickpeas
🥄2 tbsp olive oil
💚1/2 cup shelled pistachios 🥜1/3 cup tahini
🥄1 tsp minced garlic
🍋1 lemon juiced
🥣1/4 tsp salt
🥄1/4 tsp pepper
🍃2 tbsp fresh basil leaves
1️⃣ Mix all ingredients in food processor. May need to add a tad more olive oil to get desired consistency.
That is it. Easy-peasy!

2)protein like chicken, beans, etc.
3)soft items like avocado,cheeses or tomatoes
4)something sweet or salty like nuts or fruit
5)any crunchy vegetables

Keep it in the fridge and grab on the way out. Shake it up or pour it out in a bowl for a perfectly dressed salad. The order you layer it is most important to keep it fresh and not soggy.
