Really amazing my new creation with Freekeh : I boiled Freekeh with dried dill, black quinoa, a teaspoon of tumeric and some chilli powder. Let it boil for 20min. Add the red kidney at the end. If you don’t have Freekeh you can use brown rice. Serve with any chicken, fish or vegan dish.

2/2: Foggy brain? Joint pain? Poor sleep? Inflammation could be the cause 😬😮

Some things that can cause inflammation:
- Sugar
- Refined carbohydrates
- Alcohol
- Processed foods & meats
- Fast food
- Fried food
- Vegetable oil
- Saturated & trans fats
- MSG
- Aspartame
- Gluten
- Casein (a protein found in milk)

Personally, I have been ‘prescribed’ a hemp seed oil, flax seed oil and fish oil to literally lubricate my gut. I have to have a tablespoon of each every day on/in my food. Based on my fatty acid status, my doctor advised me to eat avocado, nut butters, nut milks, seeds, eggs, oily fish, flax seeds, chia seeds…honestly you’d think he watched my Instagram stories every day & was just describing what I already eat 🙈😆 So, when I’m doing that & things are getting worse, it requires an intensive approach.

But for you ‘normals’, reducing/removing as much as possible any/all of the above things that cause inflammation will hugely benefit you. Not least because your gut will be able to function better & absorb more of the goodness from the good stuff you’re putting in your body. But also, inflammation affects every part of our bodies. Your brain. All your joints. How you’re sleeping. Once you make improvements & notice the changes in every part of your life, it makes it so worth it…I promise! ♥️

Down a pound and a half this week, now passed the allowed 3 pounds below target. So have revised my target to a stone less. Get this diet off to a good start again 😍 tonight’s tea was Chinese pork, with egg fried rice and peas through. With a side of smoked paprika chips. Happy Wednesday Loves! 💕✨ We are 1/2 way through the work week and boy am I feeling it 😴 This week has been a little bit of a struggle for me. I have been finding it very hard to wake up early in the mornings and head to the gym to get my workout done. I was beating myself up a little bit over it the other morning but I was SO tired and not feeling like myself..

Sure enough, reason being that I’ve been more tired and dragging then usual, I’ve come down with a sinus infection 😫 I woke up feeling awful and such a bloated little potato, with my head feeling 5x it’s size! But you know what, that’s OKAY! Today and the rest of this week is all about listening to my body and taking care of it. This flu going around has been AWFUL! & I am very prone to getting terrible respiratory infections that develop into pneumonia, so you better believe the smallest bit of a cold that starts, I am doing everything I can to rest, get the proper nutrients & vitamins my body needs! Your body is a temple, treat it with love & wholesomeness 🌻🍎.

This is what OCD/high functioning anxiety looks like. Sometimes being stuck in my own head is so exhausting that it makes me want to cry. Living with two brains that constantly battle each other is beyond soul draining. No one ever understands illness in the mind because they can’t see it on the outside. I’m sitting here trying to explain what it’s like to reside in my head and I can’t. It’s walking in your house and, seeing something as simple as a few dishes in the sink, and having a full blown melt down. It’s hating change and talking yourself out of situations because you panic at the loss of control that entails. It’s never ever being able to sit still because when you do you fall into this “hole” that’s full or worries, insecurities, and guilt. I think a lot of people say that they have OCD in passing to be cute. It’s not cute. It’s draining. It’s obsessing non stop about every damn thing that happens in one day. It’s relationship damaging. I’ve lost a lot of people because they didn’t understand it. I’m lucky enough to have a husband that is willing to hold my hand while i break and then be there after to help with the pieces. Not everyone has support. So to anyone battling mental illness, you are one bad ass mother fucker because nothing is more terrifying than battling with your own mind everyday. I see you. And I hear you. You’re made of stronger stuff than the rest. .
