Sitting about 202 right now! Which is about 6-7 pounds heavier than the lightest I was all prep. Is any of this Muscle? Absolutely not. Although I am happy with how I look, a sudden spike of weight gain (in 2 weeks) like this, even while staying moderately lean, is 100% fat and water. Don't be naïve because you have good vascularity and you're up 5 pounds in a week! I know how bad you want it to be muscle, but it's not. Be real with yourself.
My body was definitely fighting me a little bit towards the end of my prep, especially the last little bit towards the men's health shoot! The time that I am in right now is going to be so my body can reset and be happy again.
Everybody who says I stay super shredded year round, you're about to see what an off-season looks like for me! This is not only to make changes in my physique, but let my mental state return back to normal! People don't realize how much brainpower and overall exhaustion goes into prepping and being in a deficit! Especially an 8 month deficit! (Dieting down for the Olympia expo then continuing on toward my show which I bagged for the @menshealthmag shoot was about 8 months)
Time to eat more, enjoy the extra energy, and take my training to a whole new level! Don't fear the thickness!! Embrace it.
