So my intended 30 mins of press practice turned into 45 of course 🤷‍♀️ @beahappyamy shared a crow drill, which is super hard! I tried a few times but my knees kept sliding down and I could get them back into my arms, but not up towards my arm pits, so definitely a lot more strength needed there! I worked a bit on #straddlepress , trying to get a better lift off... not quite there yet! #nopressurepressmonday with @beahappyamy and @ettlivstyle 🤸‍♀️

Did someone say #splits and #handstand together?!? There is still so much control I would like to gain over some of these #handstandtransitions but I love #handstandsplits - this is for #alofloat today.

The first video is a #splitpress to #inversion and lower to #hanumanasana - I have to soften my split engagement when I lower so that my hips can both pull up. If my split is too engaged my lower hip pulls me down too fast. So I lower this with a bent back leg - at least for now. And I totally agree with @lottasebzdayoga - I would love to be able to lower that back leg slowly. I think it takes internally rotating the whole body and leaning more over your hands so that there is more of a pendulum to swing slowly under with your leg. But that means there’s less space for that foot and there’s more #strength required in the shoulders (and probably back hamstring and 🍑too) and I’m no where close to that yet.

Float to #crowpose for #alofloat today. I kept it simple today - well, kind of. Jumping to a #handstand and lowering slowly is the hardest way for me to get into #bakasana (it’s easier for me to press and lower) so I kept my work to this. It’s getting more consistent but I’d really like to end up in crane pose instead of crow some day.

Today I worked a few variations of the advanced sequence 👉 #Downdog to #Handstand to #Chaturanga

Slide 1: #tuckjump through #Lhandstand drop to #oneleggedchaturanga (for me, it's easiest to drop one foot at a time!)

Slides 2 and 3: tuck jumps up to #straighthandstand back down to tuck, then chaturanga.

Feeling under the weather, so not my best day for inverting, but I'm proud of those two footed drops and decent chaturanga form 🤗✔ Couldn't decide which to post, so you get em all! 😂

Transitioning to #bhujapidasana today for #alofloat - I tried three options
1- a #straddlepress and lower into bhujapindasana
2- a jump to #handstand and then lower
3- a simple slow hop into the #armbalance because this is what I do when I practice #ashtanga - there is just not enough energy available to me to do this any other way in the middle of my long practice. -

This is one of my favorite #handstandtransitions - I still have to #tuck my legs through. I can swing them through straight but it’s too fast and I can’t hold the #lsit then. I’m close though and I’ll #keeppracticing for those straight legs.
