Last night was my 1 year anniversary of being the co-leader of the Guys Hospital Endometriosis Support Group. I cannot even begin to describe how much this group has changed my life. First and foremost, the people I’ve met, both friends and women in my group, are the strongest and most inspirational people I’ve ever met. The group has helped me in my journey of accepting the shitty reality of life with endo, and given me a way of making a positive impact. After my diagnosis I became a shell of my former self, but in the group I have been gaining confidence and growing as a person. And excitingly, I have done things that I would have never imagined as part of this group: spoken in Parliament, raised awareness at the World of Women’s Summit, Marched in bright yellow at @endomarchlondon, and been interviewed by the BBC @bbcnewsbeat to name a few highlights. Thank you @endometriosis.uk and @helenlucymc for the opportunity... I don’t know where my life would be without this group. Here’s to many more years volunteering!
