Push yourself, then thank your body for what it gave you. Bow your head, be humble of your achievements ☀️
Getting into the habit of stretching after your running is not much of a routine thing to several runners. Many of us learned it the hard way after a few injuries here and there. Studies show that regular stretching is associated with reduced risk of injury, plus it increases flexibility, an often ignored attribute important for runners. Stretch (static) when your muscles are still warm, focus on your breathing, and if you wanna go deeper into the stretch, do it as you exhale🧘♀️ As everything, start easy, and progress into more challenging poses ONLY if your body calls for it- remember: it’s not supposed to feel painful❗️
Personally I also like to use that time to reflect on my performance: what went well, what went wrong, did I push enough, how to respect my recovery time, and what I’m gonna eat next 😉 (proper refueling for sure!) 🍌🥑🥝🍎 or 🍱? 🍔? 🍕?
