Filters are great for extra details, and I honestly have no issue with them. The reason I like this comparison is because it shows how social media can distort reality. Some people are taking 10,000 pics, using angles, and adding filters to get that โ€œperfectโ€ pic. Thatโ€™s why you can & should take inspiration from others, but you should never compare. Maybe it was the best they looked all year or they were dieted down for a photo shoot etc.

Here's a tip for those who have bad knees and lower back pain but would prefer not to be in a wheelchair five years from now. 'Reverse Banding'
Tie a resistance band to your weight from the top of the machine so that the weight is lessened as you perform the eccentric part of the movement. The bands will give you a big boost out of the hole (where your knees and back are most vulnerable) and you win twofold; less pain, and you look like you're a lot stronger then you actually are on the movement ๐Ÿ˜…. This isn't limited to the smith machine, you can do it on hack squat, leg press, even a free weight squat if you've got a cage.

"Headphones/Earbuds"
Just giving you my Fitfam my insights and pros and cons about having earbuds/headphones in the gym.

A big pro of having ๐ŸŽง or earbuds in the gym is that it gets you in the zone and keeps you hype. Also gives you inspiration through music which I'm all for. I'm not gonna lie but on days where I just feel like ๐Ÿ’ฉ I turn on that "Rocky Soundtrack" as cheesy as that sounds that motivates the hell out of me. Also when I do cardio which I don't like. Sure there's a lot of you who don't ๐Ÿ˜‚.

My cons are that if they cut off due to not charging them the night before or just forget to pack them in you're gym bag. The problem with this is that you lose focus and throws you off, just because you don't have your favorite songs/music. I've found myself in this situation plenty of times. And yes it has affected my workouts, which just leads to wasting time and energy because of it.

So what have I been doing to fix it?
I started to get in the habit of wearing them sparingly. Just because of the fact that I know when I get in there I have to focus and get the job done no matter what. It's a disciplinary thing which you have to learn and struggle through a couple of workouts. But can definitely be a big benefit when u actually learn how to have great workouts with or without. I think it's more of a mental thing than anything. But it's achievable! Fitfam "B Relentless" in anything you do! Don't waste precious training time or time that could've been spent somewhere else with something productive. Make every workout count!
