Badwater Basin is the most inhospitable place I've ever been. Even compared to the surrounding desert, there is a distinct desolation to this place. The lowest place in North America at -282' below sea level, the desert sun has turned this mineral rich lakebed into a parched, flat plane of salts.
Not only was it over 100°F, there was a stiff breeze, which is anything but refreshing at that temperature.
