My service dog’s name is Mino and he was born on September 20th, 2017. He’s an English Cream Golden Retriever born and raised in Illinois. His favorite toys are his banana, log of chipmunks, and his blue hippo, but he really loves them all. As well, he’s always a hungry boy so he accepts any treats that come his way despite me not wanting him to have the ones that are bad for him. His official job, of course, is being my service dog and assisting with my needs as all service dogs are to do. So, why do I have Mino? I wasn’t originally planning for him to be my service dog, but he showed strong signs of being capable and my therapist said that he needed to become one for me since he provided such a huge benefit to me and my treatment. Besides, he gives me a reason to live! Many ask what my disability is, and I’m not necessarily required to tell anyone, but I do for the fact that I don’t want others to feel as if they’re alone in the battle of mental illnesses. I have Major Depressive Disorder (Severe), Social Anxiety (Panic), and PTSD tendencies.
