To start off your week on the right foot, here's a guy who needs almost no introduction whatsoever. To say that Frank Zappa was a jazz fusion musician is admittedly a bit inaccurate - he was an everything musician. He passed away in 1993, when he was only 52, but still left behind more than 60 studio albums. Considering his 30+ years in the business, that's about two albums a year! So what if some of these albums were nothing more that a lot of meaningless noise? He still created and played almost every kind of music somewhere in his huge body of work. So why do we salute him? Because he had the courage to stretch the limits of music far and wide, and still had a successful career as a very fruitful recording and performing musician. Because he mixed and combined and played with concepts like nobody else before or after him, and that is what we like to listen to!
