I lost my Dad 8 years ago today. He was a wonderful man that died way too early. I'm reminded of him every time I have to do things with one hand, which is a lot now that I have a newborn again. 😊
My Dad had one arm (& only 3 1/2 fingers 😉), but you'd never know it based on what he was able to do. Even though he was discouraged from a career with "manual labor", he did it anyways. He chose to live everyday in a world that would have been much easier if he had two arms. And yet, he decided to thrived in it to pursue his passion. Thus the Single-Arm Farm was born. 💪🌱
When asked what happened to his arm he usually gave one of two replies:
For Kids- "I used to wrestle alligators for a living." 🐊
For Adults- "I only came home late once (wiggling his stump) and I can't afford to do that again!"
My poor Mom 😂
These daylilies are from our farm. Since the farm and greenhouses are gone now, I'm glad to have these beautiful remnants. They always bloom just in time for me to remember this day.
I love you Dad. ❤
