My first contribution to National Parks Week - Gulf Islands National Seashore at the western tip of the Florida Panhandle. The park is a barrier island, the eastern extent of Perdido Key just south of Pensacola, and just across the border from Alabama. Cross the park road to see two very different landscapes - the Gulf of Mexico to the south, and Big Lagoon, part of Pensacola Bay, to the north. This shot is of the northern part of the island, overlooking the bay. Sugar white sands and dunes make for a beautiful beach, sun or no sun. Photo taken April 27, 2017.
