Best thing I got done today was this 185kg squat - that went nicely. I felt really sick so I had to stop after doing a triple 165 when I should have done 5 and got up to 200 block pull. Move on, regroup.

Not a terrible pressing session; definitely had some honest words with myself (and @kc_pl ) about how I need to focus going forward. 122.5kg for the triple finally done again; arse is skyward and this needs urgent attention.

Volume was adjusted down in weight in line with said honest words and I think I got it right to do 90x10 then 92.5x10; this is a good base to work from. Incline press was good, pressing 90x6 for the first time, did that twice then tapped out at 5 for the last set.

Overhead was a joke, push press is gonna need some remedial work to get back to standard. Instead, why not look at me as a massive hipster in the mirror? 😂

Off to see @cmmassagetherapy as my shoulders are in bits. Again.

I really didn't want to train last night, I was tired, I was starting with a cold and still getting pain in my hip. I'm glad I pushed through though and although I didn't quite manage what my program said, got out a couple of singles at 120kg with some excellent spotters around me! World Championships in 2 weeks then I can relax!

Today went pretty well, tempo squats at 140 feeling more routine for 6x2; though I did go a little too slow on the descent apparently...

Got up to 200kg pause deadlift, which is nice. Actually moved better than when I did a normal 200 off the floor pull on Saturday, soooo... 🤷‍♂️ Finished off with 170 for 2x3 paused deadlift, moved shpeedily methinks.

65kg 5x6 (1/3/5) Fuck me bench was hard tonight, I’m very proud of myself for getting all the sets done. Felt like throwing the towel in after the first set. It’s been just over 2 weeks since I stepped on the scales, which for some people isn’t even a long period of time. I know this but I have been OBSESSED with my weight for as long as I can remember & never been truly happy with myself. I’ve always had this desire since starting powerlifting that being under 72kg is where I NEED to be. That if you weigh this or less your more impressive as a lifter, or people think your better because you look lean or have better Wilks, blaa blaa blaa. it’s made me seriously unhappy in my own self & training because I’ve always sat heavier and never really fit into that category. As a result of constant dieting all I’ve done is made myself weaker & my metabolism shite. Some days I would wake up and if I was heavier than the day before I would get so upset and be disgusted in myself that it ruined my day completely.

Well I’m trying my best from here on out to rid myself of my negative self talk & I’ve started it off by not weighing myself at all. My Joe (@lyonspowermcr) is helping with a reverse diet building carbs up to fuel my body for training & he’s keeping an eye on my weight (blindfolded weekly weigh ins 🙈). I’m eating & enjoying meals because they are for a purpose and they fit in my higher macros. I’m not eating crap food because I want that satisfaction hit because I’ve thought fuck it. I don’t need it because im genuinely not feeling down right now. I don’t know if it’s too soon to tell but it’s really made such a difference to my mental health already & i have no desire to step on the scales to find out, why does it matter. I don’t have any comps coming up. I want to get to a point where I’m happy with the way I look regardless of what it says on scales. Pretty good session today. After bench failing to cooperate on Tuesday, I wasn't fully anticipating going to 130 today, but I did and it went well! Single at 130 followed by a 122.5 double (not filmed), then 3x12 at 72.5 close grip.

Deadlifts have been a bit of a weird one, after the 230 affair on Thursday, my CNS is a bit blasted, but I was happy to get 200, 207.5 and then 212.5 for 2 singles. Come on, my one good lift, don't let me down... 😂 I also did the gym challenge which was to plank across two vibrating foam rollers for as long as possible... I got 2.21 which puts me in 3rd! May upload a cut down of the video later...

My boy @mitch.weiner93 competed at IPF University World Championships this week in the u59kg category. The little manlet, took silver 🥈overall, silver deadlift, bronze on squat and bench. Squats warm ups - 112.5kg, 117.5kg & top set 122.5kg x5. Really happy with how my squats are looking & feeling at the minute they are the best they have ever been. Also feeling very motivated at the moment even though I’ve not got any comps coming up I’ve got mini rep goals I’m really pushing for. I’ve taken the focus off dieting and my weight for the first time in my life (not even joking). low and behold I’m getting fucking stronger, have a positive outlook on my sessions & genuinely feel good! All in all today was a successful session with just a small grip problem on the top block pull. Today was sweaty in the gym though, I'm confident that played a part in it!! 182.5kg was the top squat for 3 singles, followed by 162.5 for a set of 5. High bar squats was 3x8 at 140 but the volume just got to me so I dropped it to 6 for the second and third sets, shoot me. .
Block pull went to 230 and strength was 100% there, but grip just failed me right at the top. Coach @kc_pl recommended for the 190 doubles I try to hold on as long as possible to the 2nd rep; so duly I did for 11-12 seconds on the first set. Unsurprisingly, this was less time by the third set... Hard session, good to graft again. Also thanks for spots to @neander_tall (he's very tall) and @el_lifto (she is of medium height).

Box squats, back work and No Gi productive days off always make me happy 😊 .

On Thursday’s we grind that bench (apparently).
