#FastRepost from @Pace Gallery by @fastrepost_app
We're honoured to present the gallery’s first exhibition of Richard Avedon’s work in Geneva, and hope you'll join us for a special opening reception this evening from 6–8 PM at Quai des Bergues 15-17. The exhibition follows Pace and @pacemacgill’s announcement of our representation of The Richard Avedon Foundation (@avedonfoundation) last November. Exploring the central themes of #RichardAvedon’s oeuvre including portraiture, performance and the complexities of the human spirit, the exhibition features a broad spectrum of social and cultural perspectives, from artists and performers to astronauts and politicians.
Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Katharine Hepburn, Rudolf Nureyev, and Bob Dylan are some of the celebrated cultural figures of the past six decades whose portraits will be on view in the show. The exhibition will also highlight talents whose legacies have particularly impacted Switzerland, including Sophia Loren, Charlie Chaplin and Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel.
