📺 Tonight on ORF III: "Leading female figures in the Austrian Republic"
Freda Meissner-Blau (1927-2015) was the founder and first head of the Austrian Green Party. In the 1960's she spent a number of years in Africa before moving to paris. As a single mother she experienced the student protests in Paris first hand. Christian Reinhold has created this portrait of her life, during which she moved back to vienna in the 1970's where she became heavily involved in the ecology movement. In 1986 she ran for president, coming 3rd. In the same year she entered the parliamentary elections and became an MP.
