I am a nickel short & a day late but here is my #TrinketsandTreasuresTuesday
photo.☀️ Tomorrow’s high temperature for Lexington, KY is 90 degrees-summer is ending with a bang! Back in the day I am sure these old hand fans would be put to use. 🌟In the LUCITE Tray are the following items: Boy and Girl fiqurines ‘Made in Japan’ to look like Hummels . ⭐️Does anyone know the Star Wars character? ⭐️The two iron items with a wire-hook were for holding store receipts, invoices, bills, etc. These were made to be hung on the wall and were often used in old general stores. ⭐️One of my favorite things is the “Three Wise Monkeys: Hear No Evil, See No Evil, Speak No Evil.” Great advice! ⭐️The pouch is a Bull Durham tobacco sack that is full of old ginseng. I don’t have a clue as to how I ended up with that?? Beside the postcard is a couple pieces of the ginseng. ⭐️Two buttons. ⭐️The small ‘Hand Tray’ is an ashtray but works well as a pin tray and is holding a double horseshoe pin and a bugle pin.⭐️The round butter-dish I found today. Although in great condition I bet it’s held some homemade butter back in the day. 🌟🌟Other items displayed on table: A compote that is used for holding wine corks but if I had my druthers it would be full of some kind of fruity perserves. ⭐️Last is the hand painted 🏈 football player called THE WINNER signed by Carl on the back.
🐜I will say this was a fun post to pull together. It made me think-Where, When and Why did these things come from?
