”It is the first time for me to watch what is happening in Gaza from far away. I used to chase the truth in the field and deliver it to the world. That is what I learned from my family. I started being a photographer after Israel attacked my brother Mohammed, while he was a photographer too covering the Israeli invasion of East Zaitoun neighborhood in 2006. I saw my brother being attacked and shot by Israeli tanks, it was then that I decided to continue his work and deliver the truth to the world.
Today in Gaza, all my siblings who are journalists were in the field near borders. Mohammed, who recovered from his injuries and continued his work photographing the truth and deliver it tp the world. Islam a field correspondent to Palestine tv, she was covering live the updates and details. After hours I saw her being attacked on live tv by the Israeli army, and she lost her consciousness.
A couple of hours later, I heard bad news about my brother Ibrahim. Ibrahim the photographer was shot in his arm while covering the demonstrations and the Israeli assault. Now he is being treated in the hospital, I wish him a fast recovery.
Ola, my sister, also working day and night to document Israeli occupation violations for journalists rights in Palestine.
It was a hard day for me and for my family. It was hard for my father, it was hard to my strong mother. My mother that lost her older son in 2007, and she still has to worry about her children while they do their job and deliver truth to the world. I know mother how much worry we are, every one of us. But I also know how much you love what we are doing for truth, home, humanity, freedom and justice.
I know that all of my my beloved family will continue doing what we believe despite all violations.” ~ Ezz Al Zanoon #Gaza #Palestine #endisraeliapartheid
