HELP ME PLEASE 🌼🌻 Good evening everyone!! I'm seeking success stories, tips, tricks and any other useful bits of information you can provide me. Today I found out that the class I am taking over is a little anxious as they have not had a permanent teacher for a while as their teacher became ill. This means the parents are also skeptical and I am going to have to work hard to prove that I am here to stay and have the best intentions at heart. How would you win parents over/develop relationships and trust when coming into a classroom mid term? I was thinking of creating a "get to know the teacher flyer" and also allowong students to do so- kind of treating it like the first day of school all over again! I'm also a little nervous as I am young and fresh out of uni that they may assume I have no clue what I am doing.
I am excited to have a student who is deaf in my class (person first language)! But I have also never had this experience before and want to make sure I do my best to give them an awesome learning experience. I know visual stimuli and cues will be big. Any other ideas? They have an adult who signs for them.
THANK YOU SO MUCH X
