I began my day heading north across some of the most remote roads I've ever ridden. The mountains in the distance were today’s destination (picture 1).
It’s pretty astonishing how the desert has special colors all of its own. There are also special animal warnings. You don't exactly see a raging bull warning very often!
I also saw some wild mustangs too, but they bolted when I stopped to try a picture.
Before I knew it, the desert had ended by a deep forest near Mono Lake. I crossed several passes with elevations well over 8,000 feet and the smell of the trees was very intense.
Finally, I emerged into another pass and my jaw dropped when I saw this view (picture 5). I felt so small in the universe against such majesty.
Tomorrow I'll be pushing north of Reno, Nevada.
As always, thank you for following along. This trip has been a dream of mine for a long time and I’m very excited to be able to share it with you all. I still have a few days left, so remember to check back in tomorrow!
