One of my biggest passions is serving on the worship team at our church. I'm a singer and have been since middle school. At home, I am always belting something out, from country music to worship songs to @lecrae, to singing operatic lullabies to my nieces and nephews...I just love singing!!! I never would've guessed that leading worship at church would have a negative effect on my diabetes...but it definitely does. Every Sunday morning that I lead, without fail, my blood sugar heads north of 200 and just hangs out...it even does it on Thursday nights for practice, like tonight. It's a result of the adrenaline that flows through me before and while I'm up there.
This is me and @taraell, another Type 1 who also sings on the worship team, at practice tonight. We compared our @dexcom readings and both were 230+. As if having two type 1's on the same worship team seems crazy enough, we actually have a third!! @type1_narrative also serves on our worship team!! We're the diabetic trio!! And we all get hit with the same blood sugar boost on the days we serve...but that doesn't stop us from signing our hearts out for God!! What about you? What activities cause your bs to rise without fail?!!
