Some days are lean days and other days are munchin’, unmotivated, feelin’ a bit shit kinda days😂. Whatever kind of day or week you’ve had, everyday is a self care kinda day. You’re never always going to be 100% perfect, but you can re-instate your goals and wipe the slate clean. Just know that you can start afresh tomorrow, or any day you want to - you don’t always have to wait for Monday.

I’ve been to the gym once this week... I keep hoping the weeks will calm down and I can get back into a routine... hopefully next week I can get back into the swing of things.

My writing besties @selinafenech and @kalastbooks are my beta-reading buddies, cheerleaders and constructive criticisers - I’m so grateful to them for brainstorming, encouragement, occasional venting, support, focus, action, and so much more. And I couldn’t do it without my sweet husbee, who reads everything first, talks me down from the cliffs of self-doubt, makes me cups of tea, loves my characters even more than I do, and believes in me even when I don’t. Oh, and helps me at every event, loading in, hanging out, going home to get more books, packing up with me and lugging boxes. *Face to face*

A lot happened between these two pictures besides 3 years... Got out of an emotionally and physically tolling long term relationship and put myself first, and found my happiness again all the way to moving to a new state away from family and friends. I was finally able to see the light in myself again and got back to me. By finding myself again a side effect was losing 60 lbs or so that I had put on by putting everyone else first! I was finally able to have a clear head. I truly smiled again, my health improved, my anxiety lessened, my stress was better, my friends said they finally recognized me again, the actual Christy was back.

I had tried quick fixes, pills, cleanses, gym rountine and I fell off when they didn't work quickly and I got tired of going to the gym in the cold. But in these 3 years I finally found my dedication when I invested in myself for 30 minutes a day and planned my meals, all in the comfort of my own home, no more gym, no more failed attempts at fads or diets, I spent money I would have spent on junk and invested in me and I gained confidence that I hadn't had since I was younger. It's now become a lifestyle and a non-negotiable. I learned how to incorporate the things I enjoy in life into my routine and still see progress! (Let's face it, I'm a wineo and taco/pizza fanatic!)

#igwritersnano when do you write? Anywhere, anytime - have to make the most of each moment. I’ve scrawled notes on drink coasters at gigs, written chapters in the park, on the train, in lines at the post office... I write as often as I can in my little purple office - but mostly at night.
