Facebook kindly reminded me today that, on this day 4 years ago, I had posted about "putting in 50/60 hours a week working and going to school". 😳🙄😆
Funny thing is, that same year was when I decided to drop the school hustle, drop the shitty job hustle, and start my own business instead. 👊🏼 For anyone who is currently living in that world of hustle, here's my two cents:
Seriously, don't do it.
Unless it's making you crazy happy and head over heals fulfilled, that sort of hustle is not worth it if it means sacrificing your happiness/sanity/health.
There are many forms of hustle, but most times we get stuck hustling for other people's dreams instead of our own. I've been kind of turned off from the word hustle lately because for many years, even when I first started my business, I hustled for all the wrong reasons. And guess what that got me? A whole lot of frustration, anxiety, and unfulfillment. 👎🏼 But there is a good form of hustle out there... and that's a hustle backed with HEART and passion. When you're working to carve out a life that is 100% of your own making, working really damn hard for it doesn't really feel all that much like work hehe. ☺️💓 Make sure to gut check yourself now and again that the hustle you're doing is one YOU chose; one that is building a life you are really freaking proud of. One where you can look back on your life legacy and say "I did this!" with pride. 😘✌🏼💋
