2017 Draft Class Rankings:
#2 Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars were a coming off a disappointing 4-12 season, and were looking to bounce back and make the playoffs for the first time in a decade. They held the 4th overall pick in the draft, and knew they had to take advantage of this opportunity and have a franchise changing draft class. They achieved this feat, as this draft class was one of the main reasons that they were able to win the AFC South. With the 4th overall pick, the Jags selected RB Leonard Fournette out of LSU. Fournette was the Jags’ best offensive player in 2017, rushing for 1040 Yards and 9 TDs. With their second round pick, they selected LT Cam Robinson out of Alabama. Robinson started for the Jags in 2017, and was a back bone of one of the best O lines in all of football. In the 3rd Round, they selected DE Dawuane Smoot, Smoot didn’t get a lot of playing time, but played well when he got in. WR Dede Westbrook (4th Round) played well when he came back from a sports hernia injury. CB James Myrick (6th Round) was also a solid depth guy as well. The Jags set an example on how a team picking in the Top 5 can use their opportunity to be able to get game changing talent. They got 2 franchise players, and 3 solid role players with solid upside in just one draft.
