"We are lucky to have this paradise we call our country, our home." as a lot of tourists, instagrammers, and even social media influencers would say in the photos they post, and true enough, we are lucky to live in a country like the Philippines.
We go around posting photos promoting and glorifying the beauty of our own country but always miss to include the true essence of why we travel; the thrill, the purpose, and the responsibility that come with it all. The beauty of traveling doesn’t end after the fun and achieving that instagram-worthy shot. People often forget that we have a huge responsibility in preserving not just the beauty but also the health and condition of the place we visit.
I’ve seen too many FB videos highlighting how we are the main contributors to our environment's degradation. I just can’t live the rest of my life feeling bad about the world and stopping there - I knew I had to do something. With this platform, I know my voice will reach many.
I’m sharing this because I want the future generation to see what I have seen, to experience the wonders of wandering, and to tell their own story. Because I believe that a #TrueWanderer doesn’t only wander and see, but also cares and takes responsibility.
