No point in trying to pretend this didn’t happen, so on #instagram it goes.
My husband and I have been so busy with various family events lately that we completely lost sight of making time for “us”
Today we decided that we’d take a time out and go out for dinner.
I told him as much as I’d love to stay on track, spending time with him meant soooo much more.
I used to be the person constantly saying no to food that in the end it made me feel deprived and cheated.
I’m learning to say yes to enjoying life while still remaining focused on hitting my goals.
You don’t have to work out crazy and eat “on plan” 💯% of the time. I’m trying to focus on making my life more 80/20, which to me means most days I work out and eat “right” while on some days I ALLOW myself to say yes.
Here’s to a date night filled with oh so many “yes’s” cuz...yelp, my husband just walked back with cheesecake😊🤷🏻‍♀️

No Equipment Needed!

If you're not a fan of traditional cardio (like me!) give this exercise a go. You can do it on its own or throw it into mini circuits at the end of your workout. Examples below...

Mini-Circuit Option 1:
🔸Step Ups - alternating legs (20)
🔸Mountain Climbers (50 reps)*
🔸BW Squats (20)
🔸Tricep Dips (12)
✖Repeat✖Times 3

Mini-Circuit Option 2:
🔸Single Leg Glute Bridge (12 each leg)
🔸Mountain Climbers (50 reps)*
🔸Walking Lunges (20)
🔸Pushups (10)
✖Repeat for 10mins✖

🔷Pre AND Post Workout nutrition is so important!! 😅Today I jumped into the Core and Cardio Giant Set with the 5:45am crew! I was reminded just how important having something before and after your workout is!! 🍌Banana for Pre-Workout: This provided carbohydrates and sugars to help give me sustained energy throughout the workout. I ate this about 45minutes-1 hour before my workout to give my body adequate time to digest it. I also took a shot of Ignite... because it was 545am 🤣 🥛Afterburn Shake: I mixed a scoop of iced cinnamon Afterburn with about 7oz unsweetened almond milk and 1 oz sweetened. YUMM!! This quick protein immediately following the workout is going to help with muscle recovery. 💙Share with us your favorite pre-post workout foods 🙌🏼

I’ve been struggling for about 6 months with working out.
At one point it was so easy to get up and go run or go to boxing.
I loved working out at home.
It felt weird to not work out... and then I hit a plateau and everyday was hating it.

Forcing myself to go to the gym to get some kind of workout in... and to be honest... they were half-assed.

I knew I needed to find something I enjoyed again. One of my friends had been RAVING about this burn boot camp.

I finally decided I needed to try SOMETHING different because I just wasn’t feeling it anymore. 60+ hours a week of work & school, I couldn’t force myself into any kind of routine.
Today was Day 8 at this gym and I am SO beyond thrilled to have found it.
The trainers are AMAZING.
The support from other members is incredible.

To actually enjoy working out again and to look down at the clock and be like “wow we are done already.”
It’s an amazing feeling.

I missed it.
